Journal of Applied Research on Learning
Canadian Council on Learning is proud to announce the launch of the first issue of the Journal of Applied Research on Learning (JARL). Unique in Canada, JARL is a biannual, peer-refereed research publication that addresses specific, practical problems affecting learning in Canada and applied research of significance to learning in the Canadian context. JARL is available online as a free publication containing scholarly articles in both French and English. It is meant to be a forum for the exchange of results and ideas from quality applied research.

Event: Canadian/International Symposium and Scan on Settings for Health and Learning

Event Description: The Health and Learning Knowledge Centre is hosting a symposium, Settings for Health and Learning. More than just a workshop, this event will bring together experts, practitioners and policy-makers from across Canada and around the world. Click here for more.
Objectives
  • Discuss promising and evidence-based practices, policies and programs including several settings (e.g. pre-schools, schools, post-secondary institutions, primary health care, workplaces, prisons, cities, communities, etc.)
  • Present the initial results of web scans and e-mail inquiries for related contacts people and samples of policies, programs and initiatives.
  • Provide an opportunity for international networks concerned with various settings to consolidate their development while stimulating further developments on settings in Canada.
  • Further, to enable the IUHPE “joined settings” project to make further progress in sharing knowledge about effective interventions in settings and places.
