This report, chaired by Professor Sir John Tooke, focuses on the question of clinical effectiveness in UK. It is divided into 3 sections:
- a descriptive background of who is currently doing what in the UK
- current thinking on how to approach the issues of clinical effectiveness and barriers to implementation of guidelines or effective practices
- an overview of current knowledge on the effectiveness of strategies to promote the uptake of clinically effective practice.
